This small home office is located above Chuckanut Bay in Bellingham, Washington and belongs to Peter Frazier. This quiet and peaceful place with awesome water views over trees and water is also the guest room and the place to watch DVDs with a family. Even though working in such location is very comfortable it is healthy too. There is only stand up desk made of cedar so the owner’s back won’t be hurt after long hours of work. It accomodates a Dell 24″ monitor, MacBook Pro and a small sound system. What else a professional freelancer could dream of?

Love him or hate him, D.R.E.S has been a fixture in the ATL Hip Hop scene for nearly 1/3 of it’s life.  He’s been the man in the Underground ATL scene for about 10 years—or nearly 1/2 of the 25-year strong ATL Hip Hop underground since arriving for school from Philly.  This is a promo reel of some of his recent exploits.  The man is like a shark.  He never stops moving.  I wrote a piece on him for Art Nouveau magazine in 2009.  Check it out, if you get a minute…

“One of the great things that made Hip Hop fun was you wanted to be the first kid on the block that had the joint. People would have family down south, or have family up north and we’d record radio sessions and begin sharing them. Magic Mike made me love the south. Magic Mike, Kilo, Raheem (The Dream) and Bass music made me love The South. Aside from that my musical diet consisted of Cameo – that’s some ATL shit.

“There’s a lack of soul now, a lack of depth, a lack of mystery. You gotta know where it comes from to know where it’s going. I think we dropped the ball. I really do. We bitch about how the music has changed but we never took the time to pass the culture down, the tradition down. I can’t blame technology. I can’t blame
the industry, I can’t blame the media. We fucked it up.”

Furious Styles & DJ Dub Present: Jay Electronica – Victory (Mixtape)

“In the current state of music, an artist like Jay (Electronica) deserves the attention of anyone who even THINKS they like Hip-Hop. We’re not saying that he’s the savior but he’s been working on the humble for years and Exhibit C opened him up to the world. World, meet Jay Electronica…support his victory for Hip-Hop.” – DJ DUB
“I truly believe that everyman has a story and Jay Electronica’s story is definitely the current soundtrack to Hip-Hop. He makes the impossible seem possible. Dub and I wanted to share his soundtrack with those that were unfamiliar. Let’s welcome back the lyricists to Hip- Hop.” – DJ FURIOUS STYLES.

Sort of new from ATL-Based MC Reese.  I mess with this kid.  He can flow.  I support spitters, y’all know that.  I’m not too picky about subject matter, as long as the MC is spitting, original and the beat is hitting I can get behind it.

El Bar was the spot when it first opened back in like ‘06.  Now I have no time to go out there.  I always work nights and miss everything…
